Style Watch: Summer Opening Ceremony BBQ In LA
- Posted on: Wednesday May 5, 2010 at 10:00 AM
Safe to say that Saturday's BBQ party for the official grand opening of Opening Ceremony's LA parking lot on La Cienega was THE coolest May Day party to be at for Los Angeles style afficionados.
Ccommissioned by OCLA's founders Humberto Leon & Carol Lim as the first of a series of outdoors art installation to showcase the work of West Coast artists, director Spike Jonze's adorable air dancers piece, "You & Me on La Cienega," set a playful mood to the event (i.e. Air dancers = oversized baloons that "dance" in the wind).
"Who doesn’t love an air dancer?," Lim told Style.com.
We agree! Check out the rad styles spotting by Jt.com's LA team below:

This lady wins best vintage 70's inspired outfit hands down:

Heidi Core - Style: Hanoi Rocks VS. CobraShop.

Tacos, BBQ and free booze for everyone... OCLA sure knows how to throw a successful bash!

It was a perfect day to wear very short shorts and an oversized sheer top:

Sophia De Arborne
Style: Boho Sex Kitten
Dress: Vintage Top, Levi’s shorts, Marc Jacobs bag.
Inside the store, shoppers were given manis with this season's coolest shades...

Everyone agreed that the secret of great style often lies in great accessories:

And finally - it ain't a great BBQ party without kids having a blast!

Bizarre Basketball Ending

"It ain't over 'til it's over." Duke got it. Cibona in the Adriatic League learned it the hard way.
The Adriatic League championship game between Cibona and Partizan ended in utter calamity for Cibona, as they watched their season go down in flames in literally the blink of an eye. May sound dramatic, but it's true: In the following clip, the team in white (Cibona) hits an apparent game-winning 3-pointer with 0.6 seconds left in the game, which set off a celebration on their sideline. Meanwhile, a desperation midcourt shot was sailing over their heads that eventually rattled in, setting off a Partizan celebration -- the one that ultimately mattered, i.e. the one at the end.
