Star Wars Infamous Cantina Scene For FIFA World Cup 2010
- Posted on: Tuesday June 8, 2010 at 10:00 AM
For kids in the 80s, there was nothing more zany and out-of-this-world than George Lucas' cantina scene at Mos Eisley Spaceport in Star Wars (Episode IV: A New Hope). Well, Lucasfilm recently teamed up with Adidas and 2010 FIFA World Cup to revisit the cantina with some surprising new characters: David Beckham, Daft Punk, Snoop Dogg, Franz Beckenbauer, Noel Gallagher, Ian Brown, Ciara, Jay Baruchel and DJ Neil Armstrong. Yes you read that right:
Snoop Dog plays Luke Skywalker alongside Snaggletooth, Hannerhead, Walrusman, Greedo, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and the other aliens in this seamlessly edited remake.
Snoop also recently starred in the short movie for his new album "Malice in Wonderland", where arch-criminal Cain (a.k.a. Queen of Hearts) rules the police and city officials of Wonderland. Jamie Foxx, Xzibit, DJ Quik and Soulja Boy Tell `Em also make appearances. Quite a range of iconic movies to star in, huh?
Have a look at the first installment of "Malice in Wonderland":
The Etsy Marketplace: A Thriving Artistic Outlet
- Posted on: Wednesday May 26, 2010 at 1:00 PM
If you haven't yet hopped on Etsy, you are missing out.
Etsy has burgeoned recently as an online marketplace for creatives to vend their handmade items...
Like a virtual flea market, on Etsy, you can find anything from vinyl wall decals to furniture made from cow hide to air plants! In fact, some venders make a solid living (more than 100k) selling their creations. Not a bad gig, huh?
We spent a little tlme selecting a few retro peices here to help appease your inner fashion guru:

ABOVE: Steampunk rings by LondonParticulars, based in Seattle, made from recycled watch gears for those with a gothic persuasion (or not). BELOW: Tired of the boring daily grind necktie? The detailed graphics on the neckties by Cyberoptix Tielab from Detroit are silkscreened to perfection and sent in a gift box, no matter what the occasion.

ABOVE: Belt Buckles by City Cowboy - illustrated to show off the artist in you (belt not included). BELOW: Hand screenprinted organic cotton dresses and tees by James Anthony Apparel in Miami. The upside? You can get ANY design printed on ANY garment, custom made to your liking.

You found anything sweet on Etsy? Are you a designer on there? Let us know!
