The Roots are back in business with a video release of "Dear God 2.0" feat. Yin Yames, from their new album Right On. Kind of a reflection of the Black Cab Sessions (one song, one take, one cab), Black Thought acts as the cab driver to Yames as they tour the streets of New York City.
A reflection on human suffering, the video shows the dark underbelly of the city streets with a despondent array of cab passengers, and closes with an solemn appearance of Questlove. Enlightening or depressing?
The Roots new album “Right On” also features Joanna Newsom, Dice Raw and Phonte of Little Brother.
