It's good to be Brazil. On Friday, the International Olympic Committee awarded the 2016 Summer Games to Rio de Janeiro, making it the first South American city to host the Olympic Games. Brazil will be hosting the 2014 World Cup as well - word is they're going to fill the gap by making a bid for the 2015 Super Bowl. (Not really.) As Brazil is known for its scenic scapes and wild celebrations, don't be surprised if the 2016 Olympians seem a step slower...

The other story here is that Chicago was in the running for the games, with President Obama flying over to Denmark to personally lobby on behalf of his hometown. Alas, the draw of holding the games in South America for the first time won the day, but if my hometown was up for something like this, and I thought I could sway the vote, I'd probably give it my best shot. Below is Snoop Dogg and Pharrell's video for "Beautiful," which was filmed in Rio, and might as well be a travel brochure for the city. I'm getting cracking on planning the road trip. Who's comin with?
(PS our buddy Snoop by the way is performing Oct 17th in the Justin Timberlake and Friends Concert in Vegas. That's right: Snoop, JT and Vegas? Need we say don't miss it?!?)
