Four-year-old "Rizzo" re-creates the pre-game speech from the movie "Miracle" - based on the story of the 1980 US Hockey team, and their historic win over the juggernaut Soviet team in the midst of the Cold War.
Some said the Soviets were unbeatable: they had, after all, won every hockey gold medal dating back to 1964. And their "amateur" players had been playing professionally in the Soviet Union for years, and were widely considered some of the greatest players in the world. But Herb Brooks, a college hockey coach, put together a team of gritty college kids, and pulled off the impossible.
Kurt Russell plays Herb Brooks in the film, and does a remarkable job. But after seeing the little kid's version, I was actually ready to strap on a helment and some skates, take the ice and throw some bodies around.
Get the Oscar ready: this little guy is on his way!
If you haven't seen this movie, run, don't walk, to your Netflix cue.
