If you checked out this month’s Vogue Magazine, you were guaranteed to notice model Gisele Bundchen in a teeny, tiny green bikini – a clothing choice that promised to be as sustainable for the environment as it was for the imagination. (More on the Loyale bikini HERE.)
More importantly, the article brought attention to Gisele's environmental blog, which endorses people to conserve energy and resources, combat deforestation (particularly in her native Brazil), as well as support other green causes (in both English and Portuguese).
Since Justin (like Gisele) immensely values the environment and fashion, it's great to see these sort of initiatives making headlines. Better yet, these days more and more celebs and citizens are showing their support for the environment in inventive, fashion-forward ways.
Last year, Natalie Portman introduced a stylish (if unfortunately short-lived) line of shoes for shoemaker Té Casan, made of all man-made materials.
Eco-chic Zac Ephron at Teen Choice Awards, 2008
Zac Efron, Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Aniston, Gwen Stefani and Sienna Miller have all worn OmniPeace T-shirts in support of the non-governmental organization devoted to eradicating extreme poverty in Africa.
Meanwhile, fashion designer (and daughter of Paul McCartney of The Beatles) Stella McCartney’s studio and website are powered by wind energy!
As for Justin, he's talking green to the green: his eco-friendly golf-course in Memphis, Mirimichi, is set to open this summer. More on that later.
