In this backstage pass, JT explained that William Rast was a renegade outlaw character created by him and his business partner, Trace Ayala. The inspiration behind their Fall-Winter 2009 collection came from the new age of leadership. They wanted to create the look of “New America” by taking what was classic about American Fashion and putting a new spin on it. Deconstructing and reinterpreting staples like leather jackets and jeans was the main focus of the collection. “It’s a time for changes,” he said.
